i am using new nearline storage for 2 months and i am already moved from amazon glacier to this for all archiving data. The best part comparing glacier to nearline is it get request respond in 3 minutes while glacier take 4 hours. it is the best offline archiving solution for any company.

Being K-12 education, we got GAfE for free. We use Google Drive for all our high school students. They use chromebooks, and our Google Apps for Education subscription (if you can call it that) gives them unlimited storage. Even our staff have unlimited storage. It's a great cloud file storage product! #spiceworks

I've been using Google Drive for many years on computers, mobile devices and the like. Their integration with their other services are nice. The service has been fast and reliable.

They sync system isn't as optimized as other services. For basic file sharing it works well enough.

Along with Google hosted email services, I also use Google personally for cloud storage of Google Docs. Been using it for a few years and really enjoy files being in the cloud, and easily accessed along with email (and google voice) at the time. Nice to have everything in one place. With ease, files save and can be manipulated right in the browser. I can pick up right where I left off when switching from home to work. I cannot think of any Cons with the service.

it is faster than AWS but interface is not same. also no free client side apps to run on windows, yet. One advantage of Google's platform compared to AWS is that Google maintains consistent APIs for all storage services. Nearline can be used for some innovative new use cases beyond just the natural examples of disaster recovery and backup.
Compare to glacier , now it need only minutes to retrieve from nearline and it comes with all sorts of APIs that support all storage versions.

A great solution for anyone looking for cheap but power storage. The ability to directly edit Office and other files online is a nice feature as well. It's even better if you're using Android mobile devices with their built in functionality for Google services.

Some features that set Google cloud storage apart from other services are it's ease of use, file management (particularly images and office/text documents), ability to share data across your organization with Google Apps and security.

The only thing really holding the service back right now is it's sync client which is a little "wonky" on desktops, has limited compatibility outside of windows and doesn't seem to always play well on server platforms or in virtual environments.

I have been using Google docs since it was introduced. It is very reliable. I can access it on any device any where in the world as long as i have internet connectivity. Excellent place for me to use as a document backup location.

I am using google cloud storage for couple years in connection with app engine and it serves its purpose. I am using s3 for backup and drobox for users but have coupe of servers with google app engine so kind of natural to go with their or could storage. There is nothing bad about them so far as we are using it only for db access and logs from server. But it is really fast and easy to use with app engine. But we started using nearline recently and totally mind blown. We were using glacier for archiving and it was totally useless in terms of cataloguing and restoring, you have to wait 4 hours to start. But with new nearline storage from google, we get 3 second response which is really great. #spiceworks

i started using google drive and moved to google cloud storage after i decided to move my bulk data in to business and integrated with app engine. It is fast and cheap. Never had any connectivity issue at all. It is very easy to manage and delegate to other staff. Since new near-line that provides 3 second archive retrieval, it is one of the most functional platform among Cloud storage solutions. #spiceworks

Have been using Google Drive since day 1. Have always found it to be stable and fast. I prefer it over other cloud storage platforms that I have used. The speed that documents and anything else loads on Mobile or on a physical PC surpasses everyone. And managing your storage is simple, and expanding the amount of storage you have is cheap.

I've been using Google Drive since it's launch in spring 2012. I've been pretty happy with it as a storage medium. The issue in the beginning lied with the WIndows app. It was glitchy and often wouldn't sync properly or at all. Those bugs seem to have been worked out and I haven't seen an issue in recent years. I love the integration it has with the rest of the Google ecosphere (Android in particular).
