We use rackspace for our local government entity email provider. It's fine for an oldschool email provider, but certainly has its flaws.
-It costs us about 1/12th as much as Google suite or Microsoft's cloud email service.
-Help requests are responded to rather quickly.
-Spam filtering is practically non-existent. We get constant phishing attempts. I have to manually block bad IPs.
-Services go down for users occasionally, I have to contact customer support to "rebuild the index" of the user's email.
-UI is dated.
-Lack of features beyond email.
Summary: If you need an inexpensive email provider, this one is fine. If you want something with any features whatsoever, use someone else.
We've used Rackspace for over 3 years at our Web Development project. We were using a Dedicated Server. they helped us to make it wok and support can't be any better. They always answers the phone and provides great hosting. it is a bit overpriced for a standard hosting but i like their support so no complaint :)
We first heard of Rackspace via Spiceworks. I looked into some of their solutions and found their hosted solutions. I also did some homework to see other clients and heard how positive their feedback was. Although we haven't gone with the service, I was pleased with the support knowledge and professionalism. Will consider and present back to management should we looking into options again down the road.
My previous employer used Rackspace and there were hardly ever any issues. The few that we ran into were dealt with quickly by the Rackspace staff. If you're looking for reliability and prompt response times, Rackspace is the way to go. #spiceworks
Bit costly but i like their tech support and customer support. you get a rapid response from most of the support calls and tickets. I never had any downtime issues with this soluton. Rackspace is always my first choice if my budget allows.
We recently switched to Rackspace from another POP3 email host, and it is the best change that i have made yet. Every hosted email service out there seems to have its share of outages and problems, but their support has been very good.Prices are decent as well so i dont mind using them for a long term.
We are using Rackspace private cloud as a part of DR setup with vmware server and managed servicing. One thing about rackspace is they know what they are doing. the tech support is very knowledgeable and willing to help. Their customer service is also great. The cost is bit high but it is totally worth for the money. #spiceworks
I've been a Rackspace customer for about 3 -4 years. We started using it for email accounts with hosted server. We also have a couple other servers with them as backups. We have noticed that their support had degraded since they have become a public company. Their service in my option was second to none and as a reseller I used to boast about their products and services, but now I no longer in favour to them as we saw a lot better services out there. This is no doubt part of keeping the shareholders happy however at the cost of keeping customers happy. Whenever I called customer service, absolutely no effort to assist in finding an answer to my question, instead blaming the IT administrator (who recommended them) for any problems. #spiceworks
I have used rackspace for a brief time. we had a server in Europe and needed to sync data with US Co-lo server so decided to use same provider until project finished. It turns out it is value for the money but will cost you dearly. customer service is really a plus point for this provider. most of the support team know what they are doing/speaking. We used this until client complete the project and released to client IT team but it was a pleasure experience with them. if i have enough budget, i will definitely use them again. #spiceworks
I've been using Rackspace for Cloud Servers, DNS, and CDN since 2011. They are one of the best companies in communicating with their clients that I've ever experienced. To top it off their support has always been fantastic (or Fanatical if you will). They are very prompt in responding to support tickets and have always had a very knowledgeable answer.
The products themselves have been perfectly stable I haven't experienced any (known) downtime outside of communicated maintenance windows.
