TPx Communications formerly TelePacific

We've signed up with TelePacific for two contracts and each time the process was relatively easy and straightforward. Their online portal for customers is very helpful for looking at bills and usage trends. We have had some connectivity issues, but overall its been good service.

SInce switching from our PRI lines to this we have had nothing but problems. Phone calls constantly disconnecting as well as call quality issues. To the remote end we sound like robots or underwater. After many many many many man hours and resources wasted on troubleshooting our network, phones, switches, etc.. showing no issues on our end we are finally switching back to our original PRI lines (where we had no issues) We have tried working with ATT, our phone vendor, as well as outside consultants. We have calls recorded with the quality issues and the packet captures show no packet loss or jitter on our end. However it has taken a year for them to consider switching us back to our previous service. Even though this is a data integrated circuit we have a separate circuit for our internet traffic and this is only used for voice traffic and verified it is not a bandwidth related issue either. #spiceworks

Birch Communications for Business

While I knew This corporation as Cbeyond, I'm confident my experience remains true with newly rebranded firm now known as Birch Communications, as they're continuing to provide multiple brands of service at a fair price with good reliability. That said, the industry has blossomed and the choices have improved, thus I would be hard pressed to provide unqualified recommendation, based on today's standards, but I can tell you the corporate mentality was too large, thus my criticism is based on belief the one department didn't know (Care?) What the other department was doing, thus after six-seven years we finally departed company, back in 2013 and contracted with local ISP for 20MB dedicated Bonded Fiber service. In summary, Cbeyond served us fair, and their technical support department always came thru, providing trusted and reliable assistance 365/24/7, but other departments failed to hold up their end of bargain and left us adrift without taking responsibility, thus I cannot honestly recommend them. That was my opinion, for what it's worth. Eric Robert Hildebrand Director Computer Operations BASTIEN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. Thus far we are two years into IPCentrex with Cox Business. It has stayed up pretty consistently. Support is good. The initial design and install took a while but was worth it. It's a reliable system with clear sound and consistent quality.

XO Communications

To be fair this review is solely based on the customer service, and not the product or technology. I am disappointed with the business tactics used by XO; we had closed an office in the DC area and called XO to cancel service. We were told that since we were so close to the end of our contract it would be better to ride out the contract rather than to pay the penalties. We agreed with them. During that conversation we were told that the account would be noted with the remarks that we would be canceling service. When we called back after riding out the contract we were told that the account had auto-renewed for another year since we failed to cancel 30 days prior to contract end date. There was no record of our conversation ever noted on our account and we were told that they would try to recall the recorded phone conversation but that it may be too late to retrieve . The customer service rep was rude and said I should've read the contract terms; completely disregarding any attempt I made to explain the phone conversation I had with a previous rep. We were finally escalated to a manager and after several weeks agreed on a settlement. At that moment I knew we would be dropping XO Communications at our remaining sites they serviced. They didn't care about preserving us a customer, they wanted the money for the auto contract extension, period. I disagree with their draconian business practices and will never recommend them to anyone. There are so many service providers out there and there is just no excuse for treating customers like that. Especially when customers have a choice..
