Internet bandwidth per employee [infographic]

How much bandwidth does my office need? That’s a very common question our company is asked.

Should our company use dedicated fiber (a.k.a. DIA), or broadband cable? How about 4G?

Although the answer is going to be a little different for every company (since companies often have extremely different Internet bandwidth needs), our President, Mike Smith, provided us with some average bandwidth levels (for companies with standard Internet usage), broken down by employee size, based on his experience, selling Internet to companies on a daily basis.

In addition to the amount of bandwidth, Mike also gives you some examples of the types of bandwidth companies are using for their primary and secondary Internet connections (i.e. fiber DIA vs. broadband cable, etc.)

These Internet bandwidth numbers should be used as a starting point, for you to try and figure out your Internet bandwidth needs, per employee, for your company.
