5 Steps to Writing a Great Review

February 1, 2016 Aerocom

Do you have a review that you’d like to post on our website but you are somewhat stuck when it comes to translating your thoughts into a something that others will enjoy reading?

It’s not always easy to take your experience with a telecom or cloud service provider and quickly translate that into an “Insightful” or “Witty” review.reviews

Nevertheless, a well written review is definitely something that will be read more often, Upvoted more and most importantly, will help thousands of future IT buyers gain valuable insight on a provider/service before making a purchase.

In terms of writing a “Witty” review, I think that’s a God given talent, (which I don’t possess), so I won’t embarrass myself by trying to help blend humor into your writing.

If you’d like a guideline to follow to help you write an extremely “Insightful” review, however, here is 5 step process to make your review super useful and awesome to read, every time.

1. Give 1 sentence on your business type, the size of your company, number of locations, number of users and area. Examples:

“We are a mortgage company with a single location in South Bend, Indiana with around 50 users.”

“I used to work at a manufacturing company with around 1,000 employees, disbursed between 20 locations in the major US football cities.

2. Give 1 sentence on the service type/service name, quantity and the length of time with your experience. Examples:

“We’ve had 20 POTS lines from Efficient Telecom for over 3 years.”

“About a year ago, we completed a 1 year trial, using 3 of Big Cloud’s “eServer” cloud VM’s.”

3. Write 1 sentence on why you originally chose to use purchase from them. Examples:

“We switched our service to them to save money from our previous service provider.”

“I inherited this provider and I’m not sure why they were originally chosen as a good fit.”

4. Write 1-2 sentences on the specific things you liked, disliked or were indifferent about the service and why that is a big deal. Examples:

“The installation went smooth, the service has had zero downtime in 3 years, the bill was exactly what the rep has estimated and I love how I can change the “point-to” number for our toll free numbers, in real-time, via their web portal. With our previous telecom provider, I had to call and request toll free changes and it took them 2 weeks to complete the change, which really drove my boss up the wall.”

“I love that their customer service is US-based and that the first person who answers the phone is technical because it makes for quick calls and quick fixes. I also really like the feature that allows me to create custom templates for adding new users, that I can pre-arrange with different features for different users types. That saves me a TON of time!

“They somehow “lost” our entire block of 200 DID’s 3 times during a 3 year period, without explanation. When it happened, it took all our phone service down for at least 24 hours and we lost a countless amount of incoming sales calls. No credit were offered my boss almost fired me for choosing to switch to them.”

“We had 2 minor outages in a period of 1 year, which I think is pretty typical of any service provider. Each outage was only 30 minutes or so and the customer service was also pretty average. I had to wait on hold for 5-10 minutes to speak with a non-technical, front-line person, then wait 15 minutes for an engineer to call me back and start troubleshooting. No credits were ever given.”

5. Write 1 short sentence on the action you took or will be taking as a result of their service. Examples:

“I will definitely be renewing the service when the contract comes up in the next 6 months.”

“I will definitely be switching service providers when our contract expires.”

“Our company switched providers when our contract came up for renewal and we are much happier now with a great provider.”

Here are some examples of really awesome reviews posted to AeroComInc.com:

VoxOx
Voxox Hosted VOIP – 10 Users. I have trusted Voxox for many years and recommended it for service at a globally dispersed distributor in the music industry. The Voxox support team took control and responsibility of the account, communicated well, explained options, and acted expeditiously. Together we accomplished everything in
a few days. Now, I can say I’m satisfied with the results.

SimpleSignal
We have less than 10 users but have been using SimpleSignal’s hosted VoIP service for over 3 years and are happy with functionality, call quality, reliability and support. I like that they bring in a dedicated T1 circuit to guarantee call quality and I also like the features they offer, such as salesforce integration, mobile integration, Outlook integration, video calling and video conferencing. The only downsides I’ve experienced is that they do not have a user-friendly way generating call reports. Currently, we have to go into our billing platform and perform several complicated steps to pull a call report, which is a big pain.

Verizon Wireless
Our business has been utilizing Verizon for employee phones since 2009 when we switched over from Sprint. What a huge difference in quality and coverage. Customer service over the phone is helpful and knowledgeable; however it is sometimes a process when waiting at the store. Cons: If your device is defective or has an issue, they will replace it with a refurb, unless it happens three times. I’m not sure if this was our account setup or the normal process. Overall – Great choice in provider!
