The City Has Eyes

January 23, 2015 Aerocom

It’s 2:30 AM.

1The city is pitch black and not a soul can be seen on the streets. The single police officer drives down an empty street… all is seemingly well.

Meanwhile, Dr. Malicious and his evil band of henchmen stealthily fly through the air, wearing jet-black clothes, bat-style wings and jet packs. Their destination… The City Bank, which holds over $500 million of the city’s money in its safe! Oh no! If they steel that money, it’s enough to put the entire city into Bankruptcy!

It’s a perfect plan and who will stop them? Everyone is asleep and the police officer will never see or hear anything before this evil crew is already flying home with the cash!

What about the bank guards? …and alarm systems? …ha! As if they have a chance, considering how badly they’re outnumbered in technology, people and firepower. Dr. Malicious is one of the most evil and powerful criminals on earth.

As the criminals enter the room, it’s just as suspected. The guards are quickly tranquilized and the alarm system is disarmed without incident. The heist is on!

2Then, out of nowhere, the caped crusader and his partner swoop in! …The only two people who can stop these deviants. Wham! Bang! Crash! “The Gig is Up! Abort the mission!” yells Dr. Malicious. Within seconds, Dr. Malicious and a few of the conscious members of his team drop the cash and flee.

Whew! The city is safe again. Just another day in the life of our masked superhero. The police are notified and they arrive to find the money untouched and a few criminals tied up and gagged, waiting to go to jail. Only a note remains: “Sorry about the mess, but Dr. Malicious won’t try that again! Courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Caped Crusader.” No credit is given, and none is asked for. Just a job well done.

How did the Superheroes know about the heist?

Did someone see the criminals lurking and alert them? Of course not. There is no way they could have communicated in time!

…Ohhhh, yessss… The control center, of course! This city has eyes… sophisticated eyes that only Superheroes understand how to use… and they work flawlessly!

Alternate Ending

As the criminals enter the room, it’s just as suspected. The guards are quickly tranquilized and the alarm system is disarmed without incident. The heist is on!

All of the money is put into bags within minutes and the criminals disappear without a trace…

The next morning, the bank employees arrive for work and are horrified when they figure out that the money is gone and the city is in danger of almost imminent Bankruptcy! There is only one person who can save the city: the Caped Crusader!

They immediately send “The Superhero Signal” and the heroes arrive to investigate the crime scene. Can they find the criminals and return all of the money in time to save the city from Bankruptcy?! They sure hope so, but now that many hours have passed and the damage is already done. Their chances are bleak.
