Meet Josh: Making Your Values Your Life

rp_JOSH.jpgThe first time I met Josh, I was pleasantly surprised with his warm smile and chivalrous personality. He welcomed me to the office with sincerity and enthusiasm. I could’ve guessed this homegrown Cali boy was raised on football and family life. He was just a friend that I hadn’t met yet.

Josh was the guy to know at Bishop Amat High School. He was a football star who took his grades seriously and worked hard to excel in all he did. His disciplined and persistent efforts to succeed allowed him the opportunity to play football at the University of Texas at El Paso. The majority of his four years at UTEP were spent on the field, in the study hall and with his friends. Striving to diversify himself, Josh graduated with a Bachelors in Multidisciplinary studies.

Straight out of college Josh began his career in the Telecom Industry with AT&T. This position enabled him to move back to his old stomping grounds; sweet southern California. Happy to be home and out of college, Josh spent three extremely prosperous years with AT&T before he was offered a position with Time Warner Cable Business Class. He hit the ground running and immediately began contracting business to business sales.  Josh thrived at Time Warner and was able to help numerous people while there. Shortly after, Josh was presented with a fantastic opportunity at Telepacific that he could not turn down. A year into his career with Telepacific, Josh received a peculiar LinkedIn message from a man by the name of Mike Smith.

Turns out, Mike Smith had recognized Josh’s last name. Chamois is pretty unique and it’s unforgettable, especially when you were a star running back throughout high school and college. Smith read through Josh’s experience in the Telecom field and knew he had to make a move. “I think I know you…” Smith’s message said.

Mike Smith, President of AeroCom Inc., a telecom and cloud solutions agency in Newport Beach, had also played football in college. In fact, Smith played alongside Josh’s elder brother at Bishop Amat High School as well as Josh’s cousin at San Diego State University. Not only did the two play ball in college, but both were also very successful in the Telecom Industry. Like I said before, Josh is just a friend that you haven’t met yet…

Smith pursued Josh and extended an invitation to work with him at AeroCom Inc. Josh informed Smith that he was not ready to leave Telepacific. He was working towards becoming an account manager and was making great strides toward this promotion. Smith immediately offered Josh a position as a head Account Manager at AeroCom Inc. Josh began working for AeroCom Inc. in July 2014.

“What I enjoy most about working at AeroCom is the culture and the close knit family feel… It’s more personal here, I know that my opinion matters. I actually have influence over how the company does,” Josh humbly explains.

The husband and father of two has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to do what he loves with people that love him. Outside of the office, you will most likely find Josh spending time with his wife and kids. He often plays basketball with his son and now that his son is eight years old, “he’s becoming a stud!” Josh will also reveal his soft side when his four year old daddy’s girl asks him to play dolls.

Josh stays true to his childhood values of family life and football. It is apparent that family life has always been and will always be Josh’s biggest priority.  As for the football, this has not lost importance either… Although he may not be on the field, he is still in the game! Josh and his buddies get pretty serious with their Fantasy Football League. This steady group of six will occasionally open up the league for others to join in. If you get lucky enough, maybe you can make the cut to play in their cut throat league! However, don’t let the light hearted, competitive nature intimidate you… Remember, Josh is just a friend that you haven’t met yet!
