Is cloud safe?

Just like the movie Marathon Man with Dustin Hoffman, absolutely, one of the questions asked most often, when it comes to Cloud services, is, is it safe? People would like to know that if they give you all of their information, that makes their business run, including customer records, financials etc, if that information will be stored safely. Of course that is a valid question, and one that needs to be answered before most feel comfortable moving to the “Cloud”. One thing that people must realize is that, is your information safe at your office? Could something happen to your office building, your onsite server? To look at it in a different way, do you leave your money under your bed at home, or in a wall safe? Or do you put it in the bank?

Earth and shield securityMoving to the “Cloud” is just like putting your information in an “information bank”. There are buildings that are specifically constructed to safely house your information. These buildings have security, back up power and a 24/7 staff to take care of your information. Can something happen to that building? Yes, but, if your information is with the correct provider than that information is simultaneously being backed up at another “information bank”. Just like with some older people being still hesitant to put their money in the bank, and they store it under their mattress, soon, almost every business will store their information in the Cloud and only the old stubborn people will hide their information “under their mattress”.
