SMS Only. Not MMS
Okay. Well, what is your company need to know about this new text messaging SMS feature that Microsoft has now added? Number one, it’s only SMS. It’s not MMS. For that reason, I recommend using operator connect vendor to still do your SMS cinema mess because through an operator connect vendor, your company is allowed to do SMS and MMS and who text messages and never sends an image that’s just an incomplete product to me. So still use an operator connect vendor. That’s just the best way to go. So that’s the first thing you need to know.
SMS/Text Messaging in Teams is considered & Register to use 10DLC Network
The second thing you need to know is SMS messaging with teams is considered business messaging, non consumer messaging and three application, two person messaging. So what that means is like all the other cloud phone system vendors out there, you have to register and do the ten DLC registration in order to get teams, SMS messaging, working. That means you have to create a brand and you have to create a campaign. Now, don’t ask me for consulting help on that stuff. That is something that every business is working through with every cloud phone system, service provider out there. When it comes to it, it’s a little bit tricky. You’ve got to really work with your service provider and getting those things right and they reject them quite a bit. So it’s just something that everybody’s kind of working through and trying to make it right. But I’m not really an expert on how to make sure that goes through smooth, but I’m just letting you know that’s something you need to know about the teams. SMS messaging.

Pricing
Okay, What do you need to know about the pricing for Microsoft teams at SMS number one, the pricing is free for SMS. It’s included in the team’s phone calling plan and it allows 200 messages pooled per user on teams phone. But if you’re a mid-sized company, meaning you have 50 or more users, especially getting to like 100 plus users, I really don’t recommend getting the SMS messaging, as you’ve heard earlier, through the Microsoft teams calling plan. And I’ll tell you why. Number one, like I mentioned earlier, an operator connect vendor can give you MMS in addition to SMS number two, if you get a microsoft teams calling plan and you’re a mid to large sized company, you’re going to pay way more money for that calling plan than you would pay if you used an operator, connect, vendor and purchase SMS MMS through them. Number three, my prediction is that getting ten DLC approved working with Microsoft directly is going to be tough. It’s tough enough with all the other cloud phone system service providers out there who have live 24 seven customer service. You take that away if you’re getting your client plan directly from Microsoft and Microsoft is supporting you and you’re trying to get ten DLC approved, probably not going to be easy. And lastly, in my prediction, I think Operator Connect is going to be adding Esims and MMS to their standard option included for free, probably within the next year or two anyway. I think that right now Microsoft launched it first. I think eventually Operator Connect is going to have that natively included as well. But time will tell.
Still confused? Reach out and contact me
Okay. Like I said earlier, if you’re a medium to large size company and you’re in the market for Microsoft, teams phone system and you’d like my recommendations on the best operator connect vendors that you should be quoting for your company during the thousands of other I.T. departments who have used me to help them make a lot better decision in the fraction of the time I’ve been a broker for all the major telecommunications service providers for over 20 years. So I know the marketplace inside and out. There’s over 100 operator connect vendors, and I can tell you, I look at the list and a lot of them do not have a very good reputation. You definitely need someone like me to help guide you into the right vendors. I will get you a demo with the best vendors. I will introduce you to the best salespeople to work with that. Those vendors I will oversee the pricing quote to make sure you guys get the best pricing on the vendor of your choice. And overall, I don’t charge you company a dime for my broker’s services. The service providers pay me my broker fee, so there’s absolutely no excuse not to at least reach out and get my opinion on this stuff. I guarantee I will help you if your company is mid-sized to large and you’re really looking at this. This is what I do every single day and it’s the reason why I do these videos. So if you got something from this video and you want to say thank you, that’s a great way to say thank you. Ask me for a quote. Reach out, send me an email or give me a call (714.593.0011)
