Your company has a call center and you are using Salesforce or ServiceNow — and you are wondering if there is a contact center software solution that truly integrates with those platforms rather than just floating a dialer bar on top of them.
In this video, I do a full demo of Vonage’s contact center software and their Salesforce and ServiceNow integrations, and tell you exactly when Vonage is and is not the right fit for your organization.

What Makes Vonage Different From Other Contact Center Integrations
Most contact center software vendors integrate with Salesforce through a floating dialer bar that hovers over the Salesforce application. Your agents constantly jump back and forth between the dialer and Salesforce. It is clunky, it takes more time, and it does not feel like a real integration.
Vonage takes a different approach. Their contact center software powers the Salesforce native omni-channel widget, which means everything your agents and supervisors need lives directly inside Salesforce. No floating dialer. No jumping between applications. Agents stay in Salesforce the entire time. That is the core differentiator and it is a meaningful one.
There is also a practical deadline driving this conversation. Salesforce will eliminate all third party connectors in February 2028, and that is exactly how floating dialer bar integrations work. Every other contact center vendor using that approach will either have to rebuild their integration the way Vonage already has, or stop integrating with Salesforce entirely. Vonage already sits ahead of that deadline.
Vonage Contact Center: The Basics
Before getting into the Salesforce and ServiceNow integrations, here is an honest look at Vonage’s contact center platform on its own.
Vonage will not win any awards for having the most cutting edge features and bells and whistles. They cover the basics and offer some solid advanced capabilities including omni-channel support, AI call summaries, AI customer sentiment analysis, AI knowledge assist, and real time analytics. That covers more than most companies have with their current solution. But if you want the most feature rich platform in the market, Vonage probably is not it. They do not focus there, and I think that is intentional. Their sweet spot is deep CRM and ITSM integration, not feature maximalism.
Agent Experience: Voice
During a voice call, the agent sees a real time transcript in the middle of the screen and live customer sentiment at the top. When you program the AI knowledge assist feature, it surfaces relevant resources automatically based on what is being discussed on the call. For example, if a customer mentions an order status, a knowledge assist card appears on the right side of the screen with resources the agent can use to resolve it. When the call ends, the system automatically generates an AI call summary.
Agent Experience: Digital Channels
Vonage offers similar features for digital channels. When an agent accepts an incoming web chat, the system automatically pulls CRM data on the customer and surfaces relevant details like VIP status, past order information, and previous interaction history. Agents can also use AI assist to search a connected data lake for additional information.
Two user settings worth highlighting: the quick voice messages feature lets agents pre-record perfect voicemail messages and drop them into outbound calls instead of recording a new one every time. WebRTC options include enhanced noise cancellation, live language translation, accent conversion, and PCI payment processing, all available as add-on capabilities.
Admin and Supervisor Tools
On the admin side, team monitoring lets supervisors see agent presence, skills, current state, and key metrics across the team. Supervisors can also manually adjust an agent’s presence state if the agent forgot to update it, which is one of the most common requests I hear from contact center customers.
Real time analytics include the number of customers currently waiting, longest wait time, service level performance, abandoned call rate, agent states, time to answer, and disposition codes. Admins can add custom widgets to any dashboard.
Historical analytics are also available alongside a visual interaction flow diagram called Architect, which shows how interactions route through the contact center. I always like a visual flow diagram for troubleshooting, and Vonage built a clean one.
The Salesforce Integration: Where Vonage Really Shines
Here is where Vonage becomes genuinely world class.
How Call Routing Works
When a call arrives, Vonage uses Salesforce data to determine routing. Skills-based routing, dynamic routing, and intelligent routing all run on Salesforce logic, not a separate application. This keeps all routing programming in one place: Salesforce. Every other contact center integration handles routing inside its own application separately from Salesforce.
What the Agent Sees
Once the call connects, Salesforce automatically creates a voice call object. The agent sees everything inside Salesforce: the real time transcript, previous interaction history, related records, and the customer record. Vonage powers the engine behind it, but the experience lives entirely in Salesforce. Vonage also routes calls to the agent who owns the account in Salesforce, so the right person automatically gets the right call.
AgentForce AI in Action
Salesforce’s AgentForce AI platform reads the real time transcript and acts on it. If a customer says they want to cancel their account, AgentForce reads that from the Vonage-powered transcript and automatically triggers a next best action workflow for the agent. Supervisors can see flags on live calls and whisper directly to agents, and Salesforce ties that whisper to the transcript and saves it to the voice call object for future automation and analysis.
When the call ends, AgentForce uses the transcript to generate an automatic wrap-up that the agent reviews, modifies, and saves. Salesforce stores all of that data in the voice call object for the life of the contact record.
What If Your Company Does Not Have AgentForce?
If your company has not invested in Salesforce’s AgentForce AI application, Vonage can inject its own AI call summary directly into the Salesforce contact record. You lose the AgentForce workflows like next best actions, but you still get automated call summaries and full contact data capture without manual agent entry.
Three Other Important Advantages of Using Vonage for Salesforce
First, Vonage programs its APIs so they do not count against your Salesforce API usage limit. If your company hits a Salesforce API usage cap mid-day, your entire contact center integration could break down. That cannot happen with Vonage.
Second, Vonage stores all call recordings inside its own platform, not inside Salesforce. That means you are not consuming Salesforce storage or paying extra for Salesforce data.
Third, because Vonage also runs a UCaaS phone system platform for non-contact center users, your entire organization sits on the same platform. Regular phone system users and contact center agents can see each other’s presence in real time. If a contact center agent needs to transfer a call to someone in accounting, they can immediately see whether that person is on a call, in a Teams meeting, or available. You do not get that level of visibility across the whole organization when your phone system and contact center run on separate platforms.
The ServiceNow Integration
Vonage recently launched a ServiceNow integration built to match their Salesforce integration in depth and functionality. It is not quite there yet since Vonage just released it, but the foundation is strong. Based on Vonage’s track record with Salesforce, I have a high degree of confidence they will get it there quickly.
The agent experience inside ServiceNow’s CSM and FSM configurable workspace works the same way it does in Salesforce. When a call arrives, everything stays contained within the ServiceNow application. No floating dialer, no separate app. Call controls appear directly inside ServiceNow including record, mute, and transfer. Vonage UCaaS users show up in the transfer list with live presence status reflecting their Outlook calendar and Microsoft Teams availability.
Customer history and all previous interactions surface automatically inside the ServiceNow workspace. The call transcript flows in real time, and ServiceNow’s Now Assist AI platform reads it to trigger automated business processes. For example, if a customer references an existing incident during the call, ServiceNow pulls that incident automatically and surfaces a link to it for the agent.
Vonage still has automated call summaries on their ServiceNow roadmap. They already store call recordings on the Vonage platform rather than consuming ServiceNow storage. Supervisor analytics powered by Vonage call data appear inside ServiceNow, including interaction volume, channel breakdowns, and a link to Vonage’s real time dashboard for live contact center stats.
When Is Vonage the Right Fit?
Vonage contact center is worth a serious look in three situations. Your company uses Salesforce heavily. Your company uses ServiceNow for IT helpdesk or service management. Or your company has a large number of regular phone system users alongside your contact center agents and needs everyone on the same platform with shared presence visibility.
When Is Vonage Not the Right Fit?
If your company does not use Salesforce or ServiceNow and wants the most feature rich contact center platform available, with deep workforce management, gamification, advanced talk-to-listen ratio coaching, and cutting edge AI analytics, other vendors will serve you better. Vonage knows their lane and they excel in it. If your requirements fall outside that lane, reach out to me and I will point you in the right direction.
