- Definition: A satellite Internet connection is when an Internet Service Provider (ISP), provides Internet access to a business via a Satellite Dish placed on the roof of the building. Line-of-sight is not required but these connections are typically slow and often prone to service quality issues.
- Best Fit: A micro sized company that is in an extreme rural area and does not have any other inexpensive Internet service available or a company looking for a slower yet affordable back up Internet connection that is diverse from their wireline connection.
- Benefits:
- Readily Available. Does not require line-of-sight like Microwave.
- Diversity of Access Methods. Satellite Internet access is a viable secondary path for a primary wireline Internet connection.
- Fast Upload Speed. Synchronous upload & download speed.
