  • Definition: Integrated (Converged) Internet Service is when a service provider delivers Internet, Voice Dial Tone and/or MPLS WAN service through the same access circuit that the Internet is being delivered on. Voice is prioritized over all other traffic (to ensure quality), but when voice is not being used, the entire bandwidth can be utilized for MPLS and/or Internet service.
  • Best Fit: Any company that is using at least 1 T1 for phone service and/or Internet access.
  • Benefits:
    • Lower Cost: Especially at smaller sites, a business can use one circuit for multiple services and eliminate having separate, under-utilized circuits for voice and/or Internet.
    • More bandwidth: For example, if a company is currently using 3 separate 1.5M circuits for MPLS, Voice & Internet, they can now use one 4.5M integrated circuit that can go up to 4.5M for any of the 3 services.
    • Less Downtime: Using the same example above, if one circuit fails, all 3 services can fail to the remaining 2 circuits.
  • Available Features with Select Providers:
    • All features available with MPLS, Voice or Internet.
