SIP Trunking vs. Hosted PBX

With VoIP solutions, businesses are converting to this new cost efficient and advanced communication style. There is still confusion when it comes to differentiating SIP trunking and hosted PBX. Both of these technologies do overlap since SIP trunking services do need a IP-PBX. Private branch Exchange (PBX) is the area where a call is routed through to different extensions. This scenario with a hosted PBX is when a business does not need the equipment on site and the providers will handle the major responsibilities of maintenance.

If you are trying to decide between both of the systems, then you should look at your company size. Generally small businesses run with less than 20 employees and they should be considering a hosted PBX solution. SIP trunking will allow the flexibility for pricing for larger businesses with many different service providers.

Both of these solutions are a great way to cut costs for your businesses. The decision should be based on your company size rather than which one is better.
