Fiber

Send data securely, quickly, and reliably

If your company is growing quickly and you are using a T1 line for Internet access? Then chances are you are experiencing slower than desirable connection speed. If this sounds familiar, Fiber Optic Internet Service may be the right fit for you. Fiber Internet is much faster over a greater distance than traditional Internet connections.

How does it work?

Fiber-optic lines are strands of optically pure glass as thin as a human hair that carry digital information over long distances. They are arranged in bundles called optical cables and deliver laser-generated pulses of light. When the data reaches your office, it’s converted to electrical pulses that transmit data signals to your computer. Since light can travel so quickly, you can transmit an enormous amount of data at incredible speeds. With fiber optic Internet access, speeds are offered in either Mbps (Megabits per second), such as 10M, 50M, 100M, 1,000M, etc. or Optical Carrier (OC) and in increments such as, OC-3 (155M), OC-12 and higher. Fiber has nearly zero cap on it’s capability, in terms of Internet speed that you can purchase.

What’s in it for you?

Improve connection speeds. Now your company will be able to do more, in less time because the fiber optic Internet connection is giving your data the ability to move at much faster speeds.

Experience security and reliability. Fiber Optic Internet is one of the most reliable types of Internet access with very low instances of disruption of connectivity. Fiber cable is extremely difficult to tap and still easy to monitor. The data transmission that it provides is also of the utmost reliability because the core of the wire is made of glass, so no electric current is able to flow through it.

Quickly scalable. In many cases, once a fiber Internet connection is installed, upgrades in speed can take only hours or a few days, compared to 6+ weeks with T1 Internet access.

High bandwidth. With fiber, upload speed and download speed are exactly the same allowing for a longer transmission distance as well as high signal rates.

Private connection. As opposed to some of the shared connections, business fiber is a private, dedicated Internet connection. No matter how many other customers your provider has in your area, your speed will always be the same.
No electromagnetic interference. Fiber connectivity is much more efficient in controlling the signals that are sent out and carried in that it makes very few errors. This is one of the major reasons why fiber is the number one choice for a number of factory and machinery companies.
