New Addition to the Crew

December 28, 2015 Aerocom

Greetings and salutations! My name is Patrick Sudbeck and I’m the new Marketinunnamed-4g Intern here at AeroCom. I’m currently a senior working towards a degree in International Business and Marketing at California State University Long Beach (CSULB). I’m very honored and excited for the opportunity that’s put in front of me to handle tasks from bringing awareness of AeroCom through several social mediums to designing infographics. Seeing how motivated and dedicated the team is at AeroCom makes me excited for the experience I’ll obtain at the end of my internship.

Why did I choose Marketing as my second major?

I guess in a sense it was meant to be. I’m a very open minded person who has an extrovert personality. I like how you can see your results more clearly based on if a commercial or add is trending that you created. I got that feeling for the first time from when I worked on my first big marketing group project, which we had to complete in a week. The purpose of it was to help bring brand awareness to a company that doesn’t do much advertising or think has trouble with it. My group chose Arizona Ice Tea and by the end got the top score. The process of making that project from coming up with our own strategy to seeing how the company can grow through different tactics was the most fun I ever had with an assignment. I was instantly hooked. I wanted to be more apart of it. So again “why I choose marketing”, is because I want help drive growth, help create new products, and bring more economic value into the company.

What do you bring to the table?

During my stay I hope to bring my years of experience from serving in such positions as being Vice President to Publications Relations for various clubs. Applying my creative thinking skills and leadership initiatives in help bringing AeroCom to greater existence in the IT spectrum.

What experience will I walk away with from this internship?

By the end of this internship I will have obtained hands on experience in the marketing realm. I hope to be able to implement new and better ideas into a project, grow out of my weaknesses and identify new strengths in my background. Furthermore, I will have a greater knowledge in the information technology industry. This will benefit my career because being it’s the markets largest segment, which some of the provider’s and products we help market are disseminated throughout  the business industry. So when I’m at my next job I would already know some of the key vocabulary’s and jargon’s that deal within information technology.

WP_20150404_005Aside from your professional self, what are you really like?

When I’m not studying I like to watch movies. Some of my top recommendations to watch are “The Shawshank Redemption”, “American History X”, and “Raging Bull”. I also like to try new things whether it’s traveling to another country to tasting new foods. In addition I have strong love for Jazz and Reggae music. I can play several instruments from the trombone to the ukulele. However, my friends mostly know me for my beat-boxing skills, which in high school I was in many competitions.

Why AeroCom?

I chose AeroCom for several reasons. One, It came highly recommended to me by one of my university’s faculty. Students previously in this internship have reported that it was “an excellent learning experience”. From my interview I already knew this would be a great place to work at because I sensed everyone had a good sense of humor and synergy, which you can’t find at a lot of places. I’m thankful for being here, to be able to apply and experiment my knowledge in marketing and the opportunity to learn new skills.
