Intern Lauren with Tom Patty!

As AeroCom’s new marketing interns, what better way to expand our knowledge about the field then by hearing real success stories and learning what other marketing agents and advertisers have done to make them successful in the corporate world. Marketing interns Lauren and Jill had the opportunity to attend two different seminars this past week, and had the chance to meet with some pretty interesting people.

Marketing intern Lauren attended the seminar “12 Absolutely Positively Proven Ways to Increase your Business” and got to meet the marketing genius himself Tom Patty. Tom Patty former President of TBWA/Chiat/Day Advertising and author of “Marketing without Money”, helps small businesses owners learn all of the ins and outs of growing your business into a bigger more successful one. Mr. Patty has worked in the marketing and advertising world for years and did advertising for large companies such as Nissan, Pizza Hut and yes I’m sure you have heard of it…Apple. He discussed the three levels for growth in a company and his own 12 step program that focuses on finding your target market and making sure you get your company message through to your consumer successfully. Through Score, a nationwide non profit organization dedicated to the growth of small businesses, hosted Mr. Patty, Wednesday September 18, 2013 at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. Intern Lauren joined the AeroCom team about three weeks ago and has had the opportunity to blog, write press releases, make calls and updates and experience how to market a business. Being given the opportunity to meet with Mr. Patty himself was really beneficial and even invited both interns to his next seminar in October to talk about growing AeroCom from the successful company that it is, into a larger business here in Newport Beach.

Marketing intern Jill went to another Score seminar on Monday night in Seal Beach, “Event Marketing and How to Write Emails that Rock!” Intern Jill learned about the importance of social media and how it can affect your growing business. Nick Cavarra marketing expert that created his own marketing agency “Social Punch Marketing” spoke about the importance of contact and how to make your email invitations more intriguing and engaging for the recipient. Intern Jill has also been with AeroCom for about three weeks and learned through this seminar about how to format emails in the business industry and what information needs to be said to get the point across fast and simple to the recipients.

Both seminars were very beneficial and entertaining. We are now able to take the knowledge we gained and include it in AeroCom’s marketing plan. We both can’t wait for the few months a head and in seeing how we can benefit the AeroCom team!
