The Service Upgrade Center rounds up what’s new in the Office 365 for small business, details the service upgrade experience, and provides resources you can share with your organization so they know what to expect and when to expect it!

The 2013 service upgrade will deliver exciting new features including:

  • Wider support for mobile devices, so you and your staff can be more productive in more places.
  • Integration between online conferencing, social networks, and email for improved collaboration.
  • File sharing and storage in the cloud with SkyDrive Pro.
  • Smarter email, calendar and contacts with broader mobile support.
  • Improved management capabilities in the redesigned Office 365 admin portal.

What to expect with the service upgrade:

The service upgrade will roll over the course of 2013, and it is completely automated. During the upgrade, email, instant messaging and sites will keep working. And if the date we schedule your service upgrade for isn’t a good time for you, you can postpone it.

Exchange Online: With the service upgrade, access to email, calendar, and contacts is improved, with an entirely new version of Outlook Web App that’s obtimized for both phone and tablets.

ShaePoint Online:
– Store and synchronize documents in the cloud: SkyDrive Pro is part of every Office 365 subscription, so each user gets a private storage area in the cloud and can access important documents on the go.
– Share documents more easily with team sites and SkyDive Pro: Invite people outside of your organization to work with you on documents in real time
– Share sites or documents with people outside your organization
– Collaborate on documents in SkyDrive Pro

Lync Online: High-definition video conferencing, screen-sharing, and real-time-note-taking help make meeting with colleagues and customers more effective

What’s new for admins?
– Setup and ongoing management are easier in the redesigned admin portal
– The most frequently performed admin tasks and communication/collaboration tools used everyday are all put together in the Office 365 portal
