Two main advantages of Ethernet over Copper or EoC are being recognized and making EoC stand out in the business world. But first, what is EoC? For those of you that don’t know it is related and are a form of Ethernet in what is called the “First Mile” connection. This is a computer network protocol between a telecommunications provider and the customer’s location. With this being said EoC allows the user to be in control!

Who doesn’t love being in control of their business? Ethernet over copper uses the same KJ-45 connection that other Ethernet cables use, except that the physical layers are different so there are special adapters needed. With EoC, it leaves a constant connection of Ethernet between provider and customer or business and provides a better connection for the user.

At the upcoming “Ethernet and SDN Expo” in New York in October, EoC vendors are getting excited to discuss the benefits and the up and coming technologies in advancing EoC and making it the best Ethernet possible for your business needs.

So what are two main advantages to EoC? Well for one, the features will extend overall product life. It offers a simple enterprise management that puts the user in control but allows the system to last longer. Another is that it is made up of traditional telephone wire making it more affordable. With carrier Ethernet, virtual transparent LAN environment is created, reducing risks and costs.

AeroCom provider, Megapath made an upgrade to Ethernet over copper in 2012, where CEO Craig Young claims that the final footprint reaches 75% of U.S.businesses now. MegaPath is one of the largest EoC providers in the nation and with the simple upgrade it is now benefiting many businesses across the nation.
