You work in IT for a large company — meaning your company has hundreds to thousands of employees — and your company is in the market for a new phone system. One of the service providers you’ve heard of is Zoom Phone. Well, I sell Zoom Phone in addition to all the other major cloud phone system service providers out there, and my expertise is medium to large size companies. I wanted to make this video and tell you three things that I really like about Zoom Phone for large companies. My name is Mike Smith, I’m the president of AeroCom. Let’s put our heads together on this.

My Recommendation

But first, if you want a demo and a quote for your medium to large size company — at least 50 employees or more — send me an email or give me a call at 714.593.0011. It won’t cost you anything to get my recommendations, and I will get you better pricing on Zoom Phone and their competition than if you try to call on your own. I’m a broker for all the major cloud phone system vendors and I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to the YouTube channel — I put out videos every single week. And go check out our website AeroComInc.com where you can read reviews on providers, write reviews, and filter by features.

Why Focus on Medium to Large Companies?

Zoom Phone works for businesses of all sizes, but medium to large companies are my sweet spot — that’s what I work with every day. I’m not saying Zoom isn’t good for small companies, but it’s just not something I deal with on a daily basis. Zoom is very popular for medium to large size organizations, so what are the three things I really like about them for companies your size?

1. Zoom Phone Is Very Teams Friendly

Number one, Zoom Phone is very Teams friendly. Teams is a very popular application, especially since COVID. From the companies I talk to, it feels like 80 to 90% of medium to large size organizations are using Teams heavily today. So it’s very important that your phone system vendor plays nicely with Teams.

The first way Zoom Phone does this is bi-directional presence sync. If someone is on a Zoom Phone call, Teams shows them as busy. If someone is in a Teams meeting, the Zoom Phone app shows them as unavailable. So if you’re trying to transfer a call to a coworker and they’re in a meeting, the Zoom app will show that — you’re not transferring blind.

The second reason Zoom Phone is Teams friendly is their browser plug-in. Zoom Phone has an app that embeds directly inside Teams. Users see a Zoom icon in the left-hand sidebar, click it, and the Zoom softphone opens right there inside Teams. They never have to leave Teams to make or receive a call.

And lastly, Zoom Phone can offer direct routing for Microsoft Teams — meaning Zoom Phone powers the dial tone inside Teams Phone System. If you want to go full native Teams phone, you can use Zoom to run it. It’s essentially like having two phone systems at the same time.

2. AI Is Included in the Base Package

The second thing I really like about Zoom Phone is that they include AI in their base package — you’re not paying an extra fee for it. The most useful feature here is call summaries. After you hang up, Zoom generates a summary of the call including the key points and next steps discussed. You don’t have to take notes during the call, and if you forget what you committed to, the summary has it. That’s included for free with Zoom Phone.

3. Unlimited Call Recording Storage

The third thing I really like about Zoom Phone for medium to large size companies is unlimited call recording storage. Companies your size are often recording calls on either an always-on or ad hoc basis, and that storage can rack up costs fast with most providers. Zoom Phone eliminates that variable entirely with unlimited storage — a great feature if call recording is part of your requirements.

Bonus #1: No E911 or Cost Recovery Fees

Because I’m a good guy, here’s a bonus. Zoom Phone does not charge E911 or cost recovery fees per user — and most cloud phone system vendors do charge those. It adds up to about $5 extra per user per month. So if you’re getting quotes of $12 to $13 per user and a competitor tacks on another $5 in fees, you’re suddenly at $17 per user instead of $12. At scale, that’s a significant cost difference.

Bonus #2: Power Pack

One more bonus — Zoom Phone has a feature called Power Pack. What Power Pack does is give your company call center analytics without having to purchase a full call center license. If you have call queues set up and want real-time reporting on how many people are calling in simultaneously, how many are in the queue right now, or historical cradle-to-grave reporting, Power Pack covers that. Full call center software runs $60 to $70 per user per month. Power Pack is $20 per month per administrator — not per agent. So you only pay for the people who need the reporting, not everyone answering the phone. For medium to large size companies that have some call center functionality but don’t need a full license, it’s a neat little feature that’s pretty unique to Zoom Phone.

Want a Quote on Zoom Phone?

Those are the things I really like about Zoom Phone for medium to large size companies. There are other things Zoom can do, and there are other providers I’d recommend comparing side by side as well. But if you’d like my opinion, or want a demo and a quote, don’t call Zoom directly — contact me. Send me an email or give me a call at 714.593.0011. I will get you better pricing than if you call Zoom on your own, I don’t charge you anything, and I’ve been doing this for over 20 years.
