  • Definition: Dedicated Server (or Managed Server), allows companies to put their applications on a single, private server located in a data center which is owned by a service provider. The service provider provides the hardware as well as the management and maintenance of the machine(s).
  • Best Fit: A company that needs an entire server dedicated to a single application but does not want the capital expenditure (capex), management and maintenance cost of purchasing their own servers for that application or data.
  • Benefits:
    • More Cap Ex Money Available for other technology.
