- Definition: Virtual Private Network (VPN), is a wide area network (WAN), service where a company can utilize the Internet to privately communicate between sites. Speeds will run as fast as the Internet connectivity at the slowest site.
- Best Fit: Companies with smaller sites, communicating non-real time, small amounts of data between sites, and they want their service provider to be responsible for setting up and managing the IP-VPN.
