The latest technology that has taken the world by storm is Google’s driverless car. Imagine the time you can use when not driving.

Get ready commuters! You will be able to utilize the time by accessing your work technologies such as your hosted virtual desktop for last minute work.

Did you know that Google had to team up with legislators, senators, and other great people of power to make their technology dream into a reality?

Google has been reported to focus in the car obsessed state of California for its entire prototype cars. It is estimated that Google will be able to achieve their goal of having this legalized on the streets as early as next year. The process to make this type of technology legal on our roads began in 2011 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Google teamed up with David Goldwater, past Nevada legislator, who suggested starting small with passing a bill in Nevada. Nevada passed Google’s bill with the hope of a safer way of transportation in the future. DMV staff was able to write rules on this technology by teaming up with the Google geniuses.

This step helped tremendously in the process of a bill being formed for the state of California. Senator Alex Padilla, MIT engineering graduate, was able to join the team to help push the bill in California. In September 2012, Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill at Google Headquarters.

Now, the technology is currently at the regulations writing stage at the California DMV. The expected date for public use of the driverless cars is set in June 2015. Once again, Google staff has teamed up with DMV staff to prepare for the future of this great technology.
