Holiday Traditions All Around

December 18, 2013 Aerocom

The holiday season is all about spending time with your loved ones. At AeroCom, all of us have traditions that we share either with friends or family and are happy to share them all with you!

Mike Smith, President-
“On Christmas Eve, each of our children gets to open one gift and then I sit and read “Twas The Night Before Christmas” to them. After the story, we write down a final list to leave for Santa, asking each child what they really want this year.”

Erin Lemly, Account Executive-
“Christmas Eve is the big holiday in my family. My family has done a huge family get-together on Christmas Eve for over 90 years, starting with my great grandparents who moved to the US from Sweden. To celebrate the Swedish traditions of home my Great grandmother always made homemade Swedish meatballs and potato sausages. My Farmor (Swedish for fathers mother) took over the reins and now my father, brother and cousins and I are in charge. We still use the handwritten recipe that Granny Wennerberg wrote back in the early 20′s. Every year I look forward to hand rolling the meatballs and stuffing the sausages.”

Josh Gruber, Account Executive-
“I love Christmas and have a lot of different traditions but one of the longest ones I can remember being a part of is every year my father and I make breakfast on Christmas morning for everyone. We both love to cook so we make eggs benedict, waffles, apple turnovers and a bunch of other things for the family.”

Nancy Murguia, Office Manager-
“One of our traditions during the holidays is making tamales, the whole family will get together for great laughs and memories.”

Jillian Wong, Marketing Intern-
“My mom’s birthday is actually on Christmas Eve, so we always do something special a few days before Christmas. Usually, we either go up north to San Francisco and spend the holidays with my relatives that live up north. However, last year we took a cruise to Jamaica- very random I know. But whether it’s traveling in state or out of country, it’s rare for my family to stay home for the holidays!”

Lauren Draves, Marketing Intern-
“Every Christmas Eve, me, my mom and dad, and my two brothers get to make our own personal pizzas and get to choose whatever we want on them. After we eat our pizzas, we get to open up our “Santa” gift- which is always the newest, most trending board game and we play the new game while sitting around our toasty fire pit.”

As the holidays draw near, we can only expect these traditions to continue throughout the years! We hope you all have a happy and safe holidays and may you enjoy indulging in your own traditions with your closest friends & families as well!
