As we all know, the Philippines have suffered a tremendous loss of housing, loved ones and resources due to the hard hit from Typhoon Haiyan. Authorities, aid workers, and emergency officials are doing everything in their power to help out those in need. The city was in a grip of a health crisis- there wasn’t enough clean water, electricity shortages are happening throughout the city and the survivors are suffering from food and water shortages as well.
There are hundreds of relief and support groups aiding the Philippines and donating as many resources as possible to fuel the survivors. One organization called People Water has definitely been making an impact on social media with their “Water for the Philippines” campaign. People Water is not a charity or a non-profit organization. We’re a for-profit, cause-based business, committed to alleviating the global water crisis. For every bottle purchased, People Water will give an equal amount of clean water to a person in need. So far, there have been nearly 3 million bottles donated globally to those in need.
The initiative that was launched by People Water was that every time a person re-posted their initial photo for the Philippines campaign, a dollar donation of fresh water will be supplied to the Philippines and their disaster relief. The initial cause of this was to raise awareness of the lack of resources the cities are currently suffering and what the people can do to help.
