It’s the holiday season and even though we are lucky enough to live in sunny Orange County, the temperature is still dropping and being quite unpredictable. Although many of us are fortunate to work indoors, do you ever notice how that cold breeze can make it into your office and leave you shivering and your fingertips going purple while typing at your keyboard? Yes, we have all been there. Well throughout this chilly season, we have decided to put together a list of things that you can do in your office to make it feel like summer once again.
- Let’s start with the obvious, GET A SPACE HEATER. You would be surprised to realize that cranking that thing on high won’t just make you warm and toasty, but will actually eventually heat up a large part of your office as well. So you’re not just helping yourself out, but you are helping others as well.
- Another recommendation is to have something warm to sip on. Now we aren’t recommending that everyone go and get a coffee addiction, although I’m sure many of us already have one, we are just saying having something warm to sip on next to you throughout your day will help warm up your freezing body. Whether that is, hot cocoa, coffee, hot tea or even just hot water!
- Another obvious tip, wear warmer clothes! It’s not summer anymore just because the sun is out. Nobody likes the sniffles either, so take care of yourself and wear long sleeves and sweaters. Not only will this warm you up but it will avoid you from getting a cold.
- Try moving around! If you are in a building with stairs, get up, take 5 and walk up and down the stairs. This will get your blood flow going, maybe even break a sweat and get in touch with that working out mindset that you have been meaning to get in contact with.
- Wear fingerless gloves. Yes, we understand that this may not be the most ideal situation and seems a bit ridiculous. But let’s face it, nobody likes their hands to be cold when you’re trying to type something up and meet a deadline.
Stay warm everyone and have a happy holiday season!
