We use computers and the Internet to complete schoolwork, locate jobs, watch movies, access healthcare information, and find relationships, to name, but a few of the ways that we have grown to rely on digital technologies. However, in today’s society the question isn’t, “should we get Internet?” This question is, “what kind of Internet” and “how fast should it be?” In this blog we’re going to talk about Cable Internet, how it’s compared to other Internet connections and also discuss how it can benefit you and your company.

Cable Internet is a type of broadband connection that transmits data over a cable television network. As one of the most popular, convenient, and fastest Internet options, cable Internet uses a coaxial cable instead of a telephone line to connect your computer to the Internet. While cable Internet is generally faster than DSL, which is another type of Internet connection, its primary disadvantage is that you’re sharing bandwidth with neighbors or other businesses that are using the same cable line. While on the other hand using DSL you’re not sharing the Internet connection. So during peak times when a lot of people are online, your speeds will slow down considerably. HOWEVER, on the UPSIDE, Cable Internet speeds are not affected by how far away you are from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Now lets move on to what really matters………..SPEED.

Depending on the service plan and Internet service provider (ISP) you use, cable Internet can range anywhere from 768 kbps (kilobits per second) to 15 mbps (megabits per second), which is much faster than dial-up, satellite, or DSL.

Lets recap on some benefits and show some new ones:

No distance limitations:

As we said before distance doesn’t matter how far away you are from your ISP. You’ll still get great Internet speed using Cable Internet.

Faster Internet Connection:

Again, Cable Internet is substantially faster than other types of broadband connections such as dial-up, satellite, and DSL, which allows you to transfer data such as photos, music, and videos at high speeds.

Reliable Connection:

Does not require a phone line, which means you always have a ready connection. This is useful in the sense that you do not have to dial to connect to the Internet and there is no dial-up fee. In addition, you can stay connected to the Internet at all times.

Price:

Cable high-speed service typically delivers the lowest cost per Mbps in a given area. This makes it a great affordable purchase especially for smaller businesses.

Availability:

This service is offered almost anywhere. It is known for how accessible it is. If your office can receive cable television it can most likely receive cable Internet. This means you don’t have to worry about where to locate your office.

The Cable Internet market is pretty big. How big? About 28% of Cable & Telecom of the $171.9 Billion was invested in the U.S. Economy last year according to NCTA.com. There are a lot of providers out there but it’s always hard to find the right one for you.

Here at AeroComInc.com, we’ve got you covered. Help others make great choice by writing your review about them HERE.

Just like these ones on such providers:

Comcast Business:

“I’ve been using Comcast Business Internet for myself and various clients for several years now and have had great success with their service.
Their service has been reliable. I find it best to provide your own equipment when possible. This both reduces your overall costs and allows you to select higher quality gear.
Their support times are sub-par compared to most “business class” providers though. If a major event occurs such as a damaged line it can takes days not hours to get it repaired though situations like this are rare.”

-Dataless

COX Business:

“My Oklahoma City company has been with Cox Business Services since I took over the IT Director position. I spearheaded the switch from our previous provider because I’ve known and trusted Cox Communications for a long time. Their cable Internet service is much more reliable, fast and stable than any other provider I’ve worked with. Cox regularly maintains and upgrades their network to provide better and faster service, and their Customer Service department and representatives are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. In addition to the basic Internet service, we had Cox set up a private network (SPN or “Metro-E” as they’re calling it now) between our two offices – one in Oklahoma City, and one in Tulsa. The direct cable modem to cable modem connection is solid and has only ever given us maybe a day or two of issues in the near decade that it’s been in service, which were always resolved quickly and efficiently.
I would *highly* recommend Cox Business to any company looking for a provider of a reliable Internet connection with excellent customer service and reasonable pricing.”

-Jeremy Gamble

For many Americans, access to computers and high-speed Internet connections has never been more important.
