Here&#8217;s a simple step-by-step to setup outbound\/inbound TLS connections with your system.<\/p>\n<p>For a little refresher, TLS (Transport Layer Security) provides message integrity for your connections over the internet to\/from Office 365. This is going to enable the databases to talk with total security.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re going to be doing all of this in the<strong> Exchange Admin Center (EAC)<\/strong>, and you&#8217;ll need the <strong>IP address<\/strong> of your partner&#8217;s server.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sectionblock\" style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">In the EAC, go to\u00a0<strong>mail flow<\/strong>\u00a0&gt;\u00a0<strong>connectors<\/strong>. Under\u00a0<strong>Inbound Connectors<\/strong>, click\u00a0<img id=\"c1e75329-d6d7-4073-a27d-498590bbb558\" title=\"Add Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC607831.gif\" alt=\"Add Icon\" \/>\u00a0to make a new connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Enter a name for the connector, and leave <strong>Partner<\/strong> checked.\u00a0For\u00a0<strong>Connection Security<\/strong>, choose\u00a0<strong>Force TLS<\/strong>\u00a0and specify your partner\u2019s certificate name: (example.com).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Under\u00a0<strong>Domains<\/strong>, click\u00a0<img id=\"c1e75329-d6d7-4073-a27d-498590bbb558\" title=\"Add Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC607831.gif\" alt=\"Add Icon\" \/>\u00a0to add a domain<b>\u00a0and give<\/b>\u00a0the domain name of your partner organization (example.com) and save it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Under\u00a0<strong>IP addresses<\/strong>, click\u00a0<img id=\"c1e75329-d6d7-4073-a27d-498590bbb558\" title=\"Add Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC607831.gif\" alt=\"Add Icon\" \/>\u00a0to add IP addresses (add the provided IP address).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Make sure you hit\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0for the dialogue box, and it should appear in the Inbound Connectors list. Make sure\u00a0<strong>ENABLED<\/strong>\u00a0is checked.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Now we&#8217;ll do the same for Outbound connectors&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Under\u00a0<strong>Outbound Connectors<\/strong>, click\u00a0<img id=\"c1e75329-d6d7-4073-a27d-498590bbb558\" title=\"Add Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC607831.gif\" alt=\"Add Icon\" \/>\u00a0to create a new connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Enter a name for your connector, leaving\u00a0<strong>Enable outbound connector<\/strong> and<strong> Partner<\/strong>\u00a0checked.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">For\u00a0<strong>Connection Security<\/strong>, specify\u00a0<strong>Trusted Certification Authority<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Self-signed certificate<\/strong>\u00a0depending on whether your partner has a valid certificate issued by a Microsoft-trusted, public certificate authority (CA) or a self-signed certificate. For\u00a0<strong>Outbound Delivery<\/strong>, choose\u00a0<strong>MX record associated with the recipient domain<\/strong>\u00a0or a smart host capable of delivering to that domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Under\u00a0<strong>Domains<\/strong>, click\u00a0<img id=\"c1e75329-d6d7-4073-a27d-498590bbb558\" title=\"Add Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC607831.gif\" alt=\"Add Icon\" \/>\u00a0to add a domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Click <strong>Save<\/strong>. The connector appears in the\u00a0<strong>Outbound Connectors<\/strong>\u00a0list. You can click\u00a0<img id=\"6f53ccb2-1f13-4c02-bea0-30690e6ea71d\" title=\"Edit Icon\" src=\"http:\/\/i.technet.microsoft.com\/dynimg\/IC613130.gif\" alt=\"Edit Icon\" \/>\u00a0to change the configuration settings for the connector.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p>That&#8217;s it.
