An enterprise grade, high-performance cloud solution, XO Enterprise Cloud leverages Tier III data centers and the XO nationwide network to offer high availability infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offerings that enable BAI to virtualize and replicate their systems.

“BAI stores everything on its virtual backup server, including complex systems such as our research database, mail, archiving and file servers. The server can easily reach five Terabytes (TB), well over the maximum size supported by many providers. However, XO Enterprise Cloud scales to meet our considerable capacity requirements, a critical deciding factor for us since our storage needs will only continue to grow,” said Jim DiNapoli, senior networking manager of BAI. “The more I learned about XO Enterprise Cloud, the more convinced I became that it was the perfect solution for BAI. With plenty of storage capacity and the scalability to grow with us, plus the adaptability to easily configure the environment to fit the way we do business, XO Enterprise Cloud was a clear winner,” DiNapoli added.

After implementing XO Enterprise Cloud, BAI simulated a disaster situation and tested business continuity procedures using the virtual servers. The exercise proved to be successful, reducing BAI’s disaster RTO (recovery time objective) from two weeks to two days, enhancing business continuity and improving peace of mind. DiNapoli restored all of his organization’s systems and servers, including the customer relationship management (CRM) system, email, file systems and research database, in the cloud in two days on the first attempt-other providers’ restoration estimates to BAI were approximately two weeks.

“I am extremely impressed with the incredible flexibility of XO Enterprise Cloud. I can configure the environment the way I want without a lot of cumbersome restrictions, and the on-demand pricing model is very enticing. Openness, flexibility of use and simple pricing is something many companies want, but few providers offer in one package like XO Enterprise Cloud does,” DiNapoli said.

“Organizations like BAI are continually seeking virtual solutions as a way to effectively and efficiently protect core operations without spending unnecessary capital,” said Jake Heinz, vice president of marketing at XO Communications. “XO Enterprise Cloud allows seamless migration of existing server workloads without sacrificing security, performance or service quality. The solution scales to meet storage capacity requirements of all sizes, making it easy for mid- and large-sized businesses to implement Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) resources and to better integrate business continuity and disaster recovery planning into their overall data center strategy.”

XO Enterprise Cloud is designed to meet customer requirements for enterprise-grade cloud computing services delivered over a private nationwide network environment. The architecture of XO Enterprise Cloud as an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) application and its delivery via the XO network provides higher levels of performance and isolation to help customers meet their own mission-critical IT requirements. Customers have the flexibility of multiple network connectivity options to access the Enterprise Cloud platform and multiple computing resource allocation options, such as Shared, Reserved and Dedicated, to best support their application needs.

About XO Communications
XO Communications is a leading nationwide provider of advanced IP communications, intelligent networking and cloud computing services for business, large enterprise and wholesale customers.
