\n11\/22\/2013 – Savvis, a CenturyLink company and provider of cloud infrastructure and hosted IT services for businesses, plans to expand its presence in Canada with the summer 2014 launch of a new data centre in the Toronto region. Designed to serve growing demand for access to secure co-location, managed hosting and cloud services in Canada, the 30,500 square-metre TR3 data center will support up to five megawatts of IT load. It will also receive Tier III certification from the Uptime Institute, signifying high availability through redundancy.<\/p>\n
\u201cToronto holds international status as a leading center of business across industries that rely on secure, agile IT services to grow and innovate,\u201d said Ash Mathur, regional vice president and country manager for Savvis\u2019 Canadian operations.<\/p>\n
Within five years, 70% of Canadian IT leaders plan to outsource a majority of their infrastructure to co-location, managed hosting and cloud services, according to a recent survey conducted by international research firm Vanson Bourne for Savvis.<\/p>\n
Savvis operates 55 data centres worldwide, with more than 700,000 square metres of gross raised floor space throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
