And he found a way to bring it to his management team, <em>and<\/em>\u00a0convinced them into letting\u00a0him spearhead the project!<\/p>\n<p>And then\u2026 when the project was finally complete\u2026 as he sat in the first meeting, listening to his company pitching <em>his<\/em> product\u2026 H<em>is baby&#8230;<\/em>\u00a0To the first customer\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Only to hear the customer laugh out loud, saying it\u2019s &#8220;useless, aging technology!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Well, good thing Tyson didn\u2019t let that stop him. That product wound up being one of the most successful Wide Area Networking technologies of the new millennium, and later helped him land his current position (which he loves), as a Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering, at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Salesforce.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A few months ago, I sat down with Tyson and asked him to tell me all about this journey in his IT career.
