One of the things you&#8217;ll run into, right out of the gate, is there&#8217;s a myriad of different types of solutions. And it&#8217;s really hard to start to differentiate which type of solution that you should look at.<\/p>\n<p>But one of the first things you need to think about is: Does your company need a proactive monitoring solution or a reactive mitigation solution?<\/p>\n<p>The difference between it really is, is a proactive, just like it sounds, <em>that<\/em> DDoS mitigation solution is always looking for a possible DDoS attack and will start mitigating the second it detects it. Or some of them will reach out to you and tell you, &#8220;Hey, we are seeing this. Would you like us to start mitigating right now?&#8221; and have you approve it. And then you have to call your service provider and have them start mitigating the attack. Typically, proactive solutions, <em>they<\/em> can mitigate and attack within minutes, within seconds sometimes.
