Why the McKenna Claire Foundation?

123You’re probably wondering why we as a company here at AeroCom decided to affiliate ourselves with the Mckenna Claire foundation. In fact, you’re probably wondering who even is Mckenna Claire? Well, I’ll let you in on the story.

Mckenna Claire is a seven-year-old girl who passed away from brain cancer in 2011. A remarkable young girl who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a type of pediatric brain cancer with an extremely low survival rate. She is one of many children that have to suffer through this type of cancer as young children and are not able to receive the help that they need simply because the research is not being done. Currently in the United States, only 4% of cancer research funding is actually designated to finding cures for pediatric cancers of all different types. That means 96% of the funding is being designated for adults and the children who have to face this travesty are doing so with little to no hope.

1234McKenna’s parents decided to donate her brain tumor mass to Stanford University in order for it to be studied and for scientists to learn more about not only the cause, but also the solution to such a devastating problem. It was through this travesty to one family that the Mckenna Claire foundation was born, and it is McKenna’s families wish that through the use of her brain as well as all of the donations given to the foundation that they will be able to find a cure to pediatric brain cancer and hopefully save hundreds of thousands of lives in the future.

Here at AeroCom, our President, Mike Smith (he did not know them personally) is part of the community in which McKenna and her family are part of. He witnessed in passing the devastation this family had to go through and as a father of four – he felt strongly about fighting for a cause to prevent such heartache. Therefore, as a company we have decided that though success is at the forefront of business, giving back to a bigger cause is the measure of true success and the Mckenna Claire Foundation has touched all of us here at AeroCom.

Therefore, with the launch of our new reviews website we have integrated a one for one give back structure. For every review written and posted to AeroComInc.com by IT users just like yourself, we will be contributing $1 to the McKenna Claire Foundation. We invite you to support not only our brand new website but also this foundation that is doing so much good for all of those kids out there suffering from cancer and are not receiving the help that they deserve.
