Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began exposing key infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now widely known as cloud computing. The ultimate benefit of cloud computing, and AWS, is the ability to leverage a new business model and turn capital infrastructure expenses into variable costs. Businesses no longer need to plan and procure servers and other IT resources weeks or months in advance. Using AWS, businesses can take advantage of Amazon's expertise and economies of scale to access resources when their business needs them, delivering results faster and at a lower cost.

Today, Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. With data center locations in the U.S., Europe, Singapore, and Japan, customers across all industries are taking advantage of our low cost, elastic, open and flexible, secure platform.

i am using amazon web service glacer as my files archive for 3 years. it is the perfect place to dump all your archives and forget about it. retrieving time is 4 hours so that is a drawback now, not before, as google offers nearline product with retrieval time of 3 minutes or so. but you cant get anything cheaper and relieable for this price.

I am using amazon S3 for backup my file server as a third set of backups. it is very fast and very reliable. i am using it for variety of services such as website backups and stuff. you can store data in your region regardless of where you live and which is great in terms of compliance. also using free tools to upload/download data so cost-wise it is a great service.

Completely trustworthy so far. We have used Glacier for over a year now for data archive as a plan "C" recovery option. Prices for storage are very reasonable for storage. We have yet to utilize a download attempt of our recovery in a test environment using the low cable internet speeds. However its comforting knowing i always have a 3 month backup readily available in a catastrophe. #spiceworks

Amazon web services are so far the best cloud backup provider with their S3 and glacier solutions. Glacier is only for archiving not for any retrieval purpose but s3 is a very powerful tool for any kind of storage facilities any company need. Read/write ratio is far better than any other company including azure and google cloud storage.#spiceworks
